Personalised maths mentoring in a supportive community, designed to help girls excel in maths
Is your daughter aiming for a grade 8 or 9 in her GCSE maths exams? Would she love to be part of a community of motivated, like-minded girls who are working towards top grades in GCSE Maths, all under the supportive care of an experienced teacher and mentor who believes in their potential?
Our Maths Mentorship Program for Girls is more than just online tuition - it’s a personalised, empowering experience designed to help girls reach their full potential in maths and achieve the top GCSE grades. This programme is built on care, guidance, and genuine connection. I’m not just here to just teach; I’m here to mentor, to motivate, and to help every student believe in her ability to succeed. I take time to understand my students, their strengths, address their challenges, and celebrate their wins along the way.
With the right support, structure, and mindset, girls can truly thrive in maths — and I’m here to make sure they do. My goal is to create confident, capable young female mathematicians who see maths not as something they can master, enjoy and take forwards into future learning and life.
All classes follow a focused yet adaptable scheme of learning, covering key Grade 7-9 topics from the GCSE maths curriculum. Suitable for all exam boards.
Each session takes place via Google Meet where I lead small classes of students, ensuring personalised attention while maintaining a collaborative group dynamic that maximises student success.
I create a safe and nurturing space where students are welcome to keep their camera and microphone on or off during sessions. This flexibility allows everyone to participate in the way that feels most comfortable for them, which many neurodivergent students find especially supportive.

More about the Programme
Your daughter will be surrounded by a community of like-minded girls who share a flare for maths, drive, ambition, and curiosity. Being part of this group means she’ll be supported by peers who understand the challenges, and inspire one another to aim high. This sense of belonging helps to build confidence and resilience, especially in a subject where many girls can sometimes feel isolated or underrepresented.
Within this community, collaboration is key. Students will have opportunities to discuss ideas, tackle challenging problems together, and learn from each other’s perspectives. It’s a safe and encouraging space where questions are welcomed, mistakes are seen as part of the learning process, and progress is celebrated. Through this supportive environment, the students don’t just grow in mathematical ability - they grow in self-belief. The friendships and connections formed here often become a lasting source of motivation and encouragement, helping each student realise that she’s part of something bigger: a generation of young women who are confident, capable, and ready to excel in maths and beyond.
Each student receives a carefully structured plan of support and challenge, including four engaging weekly group sessions that combine expert explanation, concept mastery and problem-solving. Students are also invited to take part in my Exam Masterclasses, where we dive deep into exam papers and high-grade questions. My mentorship programme offers one-to-one check-ins to ensure each girl gets personal guidance and accountability, while targeted homework, monthly marked papers, and detailed feedback reports help track progress and highlight next steps for improvement.
This mentorship goes beyond just GCSE grades - it’s about building strong foundations for potential A Level Maths and future STEM pathways. Whether your daughter dreams of becoming an engineer, doctor, scientist, or economist, this programme provides the clarity, confidence, and depth of understanding she’ll need to excel in the next stage of her academic journey.
Why I have a passion for getting girls into maths
As a girl growing up with a passion for maths, I often found myself in the minority—first in my Further Maths A Level class, and later at university while studying for a maths degree. There were times when I questioned whether I belonged and even considered changing direction. Fortunately, I had an inspiring and supportive maths teacher who encouraged me to stay true to my strengths and pursue what I genuinely loved. That support made a lasting difference and reinforced my belief that I was exactly where I needed to be.
Over the years as a teacher, I’ve witnessed first hand so many girls struggling with confidence in their mathematical abilities, despite being more than capable; often due to long-standing stereotypes that suggest the subject is better suited to boys. This false narrative, combined with lower encouragement and fewer visible role models, can lead girls to underestimate their own abilities—despite performing just as well as their male counterparts. While society is gradually shifting away from the outdated belief that “girls can’t do maths,” there is still significant progress to be made..
My sessions are designed to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters both confidence and community. In these sessions, students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and learn from mistakes—without fear of judgment. Surrounded by like-minded peers, our girls begin to believe in themselves, challenge stereotypes, and discover that they are more than capable of excelling in maths.
I create an environment where girls feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving their full potential in maths. By removing societal pressures and focusing on support and community, they can explore and excel in the subject without the barriers that often exist in more traditional settings.
Girls are more likely to speak up, ask questions, and take risks in a space free from comparison or judgment.
INCREASED CONFIDENCE
Learning alongside like-minded peers fosters a sense of community, encouragement, and mutual motivation.
STRONG PEER SUPPORT
ENCOURAGEMENT & EMPOWERMENT
COLLABORATION OVER COMPETITION
We all actively encourage each other. With the aim being to break down any barriers that may exist due to stereotypes about women in STEM fields, helping students to feel empowered and capable.
Rather than a competitive atmosphere, these sessions emphasize collaboration. Students work together, sharing ideas and problem-solving strategies, and supporting each other through challenges. This fosters a sense of community, where students feel like they’re in it together.
Mistakes are seen as a natural part of the learning process, and the focus is on learning from them. This mindset helps to reduce anxiety about getting things wrong and encourages risk-taking and perseverance. The focus is on effort, improvement, and progress, not perfection.
GROWTH MINDSET
Students are regularly acknowledged for their hard work and progress, reinforcing the idea that their efforts are valuable. Praise is specific, acknowledging the thought process behind problem-solving rather than just the correct answers.
